Pamela Gomez leads the NextGen stakeholder collaboration activities internally across FAA lines of business to execute the NextGen Management Board and externally with the NextGen Advisory Committee on policy-level issues in implementing NextGen.  She acts as a liaison fostering industry collaboration on relevant issues facing the community, including moving to a time-based operation and working to address the needs of enhanced surveillance in U.S.-controlled oceanic airspace.  

Formerly, Pamela served as Senior Technical Advisor to the Assistant Administrator for NextGen.  She initiated and led the FAA’s partnership with the NAC to establish NextGen Priorities in 2013 and to further identify joint implementation plan commitments for four priority areas of Performance Based Navigation, Multiple Runway Operations, Data Communications, and Surface.

Pamela started her career in Southwest Region implementing ground-based navigation systems.  She held FAA program manager positions for Instrument Landing Systems and Runway Visual Range systems, WAAS Geostationary Satellite Program as well as the Portfolio Manager for NextGen multiple runway operations and surface departure operations.  
Pamela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University as well as a Master’s degree in Science in Systems Engineering from Southern Methodist University.  She serves as the co-chair on the Industrial and Professional Advisory Council (IPAC) for the Aerospace Engineering Department at Penn State and lives in Northern Virginia with her 3 children.
